Data shows that Snapchat users start shopping for Valentine Day in mid Jan where many look to buy Valentine Day gift during peak sales period. It shows that Snapchat users spend more on Valentine’s Day gifts than others which makes it a valuable destination for marketing push. It also states that Snapchat users reply more on advice from friends and family while making a purchase.

It also states that you can create memorable experience around Valentine’s Day which can help in creating brand loyalty on a long term and AR experiences of Snapchat can be a powerful tool in this respect.

In case of Snapchatters, they like connecting with friends and families and they have a major role to play in shaping purchase experience. They turn to each other for sharing ideas, seeking real time feedback and getting advice before making a purchase. Talking to friends and families is the biggest trigger for them to shop for Valentine’s Day.

91% of the Snapchatters feel that Valentine’s Day is more about love and not just romance. On the other hand, 77% of the Snapchatters believe that it is more of a commercial event but we still shop for gifts for celebrating the occasion. Most of the Snapchatters start planning from January and look for brands providing recommendations, inspirations and best deals. Another 36% believe that Valentine’s Day shopping season come depending upon big sales events.

For making the most out of Valentine’s Day, Snapchatters turn to brands for getting inspired about gifts and ideas on how to celebrate holiday. By creating memorable experiences on Snapchat, brands can earn trust of them and build long term brand loyalty.

As Snapchatters have already started researching and seeking inspiration on the best Valentine’s Day gifts, this creates a major opportunity for brands in engaging early. With the help of their advertising products like Takeover products, AR and creator collaborations, brands will be able to create impactful experiences which can capture attention and drive lasting engagements. 72% of the Snapchatters stated that they would visit a brand store after seeing an ad on Snapchat for holiday which they were gearing up for.

So Valentine’s Day offers brands an opportunity to connect with Snapchatter in a meaningful manner and create impact in front of highly engaged 850 million monthly active users who are looking to create amazing memories with friends and family.

Around 75% Snapchatters agree that Snapchat is a great place for using AR experiences. Around 65% of them agree that AR Lenses and filters make celebration messages more personal than commenting and or posting on other apps.

Valentine Day is an event where brands tend to make a lot of money and with majority of Snapchatters being young, it presents a golden opportunity for brands to connect with them and showcase their brands and get customers easily as the youth base of Snapchatters is quite huge.
