Meta AR consumer launch is still some time away but the company has gone ahead and provided insights into its Orion AR glasses which it is claiming as the next major shift in computing. It has gone ahead and highlighted latest version of its AR device which is getting tested with selected developers.
It’s compute puck will be providing additional battery power and computing for the glasses which would slim down frames. It is made using specialized silicon which supports anything from answering video calls to playing games to hands free AI assistance.
Meta is launching Orion AR glasses in 2027 which is expected to reduce the cost of the device. The prices might not come down since U.S. trade war initiated by Trump administration might not let it come down as most of the glass components are imported from overseas.
Considering what Mark Zuckerberg states, AR Glasses are expected to surpass mobile phones as the key connective interface for the next generation, let’s see what the future holds for it.
