Now Ray Ban AI Glasses are being launched in more markets like India, UAE and Mexico which as of now is the largest hardware expansion till now. It is one of the most popular connected wearable launched by Meta and has been getting the push since Meta added live Ai capabilities in it.
By entering these markets, Meta is tripling its market reach since India is one of the most populated countries in the world and has a lot of young population who would be their prospective buyers. As of now, the digital connectivity and accessibility options of India may not be as developed as other markets which could hamper its adoption. Still I feel that bringing Meta Ray Ban AI Glasses would help in expanding its audience reach and at the same time would be aiding Meta in establishing itself as a market leader in digital wearables and give it a AR push.
The Ray Ban Meta glasses are available for sale at a price of $353 on Ray-Ban website and at their affiliated stores. These smart glasses will support Meta AI which can answers questions about what is in front of you, translate audio and video live, make calls for you and send messages via your phone.

The Ray Ban glasses come in two frame styles – Skyler and Wayfarer with different lens options which include clear, sun and polarized. It comes with built in ultra wide 12 MP camera which enables 1080p video recording of up to 60 seconds and open ear speakers and five microphone array supports audio playback, calls and voice interaction.
At the moment, Meta Smart Glasses are supporting live translation for following languages – French, English, Spanish and Italian when users are offline. Till now Meta has not added support for Indian languages as of now. It would be enabling glasses to connect and play music through apps like Amazon Music, Apple Music, Shazam and Spotify. Since its launch in 2023, till now company has sold around 2 million pairs of glasses.
Competition has already been heating up in this segment where Apple has already gone ahead and launched its first gen AR headset and is working on a slimmed down day to day wearable whereas SnapChat is also working on developing its own AR Glasses.
Snapchat is expected to have an edge in this respect due to cool factor of the app which has been reflected in its popularity of its camera equipped specs which were launched back in 2016. Snapchat AR glasses are expected to lesser technical specifications when compared to others and it could end up losing out in this AR race.
At the I/O conference, Google previewed its prototype AR glasses, it is working with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster for creating a more stylish wearable as it is looking to cement its place in the AI powered smart glasses market.
Meta is expected to get intense competition and for this very reason is looking to expand to more markets now and by getting first mover advantage, it is expected to go ahead and build a valuable and functional network with valuable distribution network ahead of its big push.
Meta Ray ban glasses are amazingly good looking and cool and for this very reason they have been gaining lot of traction in the market. In its official listings, Meta is referring them to as AI glasses and not Smart glasses considering that the word “AI” is the new fad in the market now.
